The 2006 NARSTO Executive Assembly was held May 9 and 10 at the Lord Elgin Hotel in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada.
The meeting featured:
• A discussion of the U.S. Global Earth Observing System of Systems (GEOSS) and its potential for NARSTO,
• A review of reactions to the NARSTO emission inventory assessment,
• A discussion of potential health effects of fuel additives,
• Presentations on air quality forecasting activities in Canada, the United States, and Mexico, and
• A presentation on the role that science plays in informing air quality management policy in Canada.
NARSTO PM modeling workshops scheduled for this coming June in Boulder, Colorado were discussed along with a proposed new NARSTO assessment of the technical issues that would be involved in implementing a multi-pollutant approach to air quality management.
